Based on our experience, the smaller the group size, the more the participants get out of it. If you are part of a large group, we will provide several tour guides. School classes (approx. 25 people) are given a tour in class groups.

Have your plans changed? We can adjust the meeting point or time for you up to 7 days in advance of your group tour. We charge a processing fee of €10.00 for this.

Our prices are for German-language tours. The price includes: 

• All entrance fees
• The fees for the tour guides
• VAT

We also offer our tours in other languages, such as English, French, Italian, Polish, Russian and Japanese. There is a surcharge of €20.00 per tour guide for foreign-language tours.

It is only possible to tour our historic churches outside of service times. Please note: Even if we have confirmed a church tour, church events may take place at short notice. In this case, it may no longer be possible to tour the church in question. We thank you for your understanding.

Church tours are available during the following periods:
1st April to 31st October
Monday to Saturday: 10am to 6pm
Sundays and public holidays: 1pm to 6pm

1st November to 31st March
Monday to Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sundays and public holidays: 1pm to 6pm

It is not possible for groups to tour the Cathedral on the following dates: 

• during the organ recitals on Saturdays from 11.30am to 12.30pm (in May, June, September, October and during Advent)
• during confession on Saturdays from 3pm to 4pm
• from Maundy Thursday to Easter Saturday, limited access only

In addition to our special interactive tours for children and young people, children and teenagers can also enjoy all of our standard tours. When making your reservation, please state the age of the children and the type of school so that our tour guides can prepare and can tailor the tour for the youngsters. As with all group tours, the group size is  limited to 15 people. For full classes, we are happy to provide additional tour guides to keep the groups an appropriate size.

Our tour guides have undergone extensive training and have successfully passed their exams. Regular further training is a given. 

Anyone who holds the title of “Ambassador for Historical Fulda” can be proud of receiving this special award. It stands for motivation, historical knowledge and a commitment to good service and quality. 

All of our tours are walking tours because all of the sights in Fulda are located close to one another. As such, the journeys between the sights are short and are easily accessible on foot. Our hot tip: If you wear comfortable shoes, the cobblestones won't bother you.

Can you no longer make your group tour? You can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the tour – more information in our T&Cs.

There is a drop-off/pick-up point for coaches next to the Cathedral, on Johannes Dyba Allee. Please note that the clearance height through the historic city gate (Paulustor) is limited to 3.60 metres. 

The coach park on Weimarer Straße (1 km walk from Tourist Information) is subject to a charge. If you book a city tour, we will cover the parking fee. Please let us know if you are travelling by coach when you place your booking. We will then give you a parking voucher.

It is best to choose the meeting point for your group tour when you book the tour. Recommended meeting points include the Cathedral portal, Tourist Information and the Residence.

We can also arrange collection from the train station, a hotel or restaurant in the city centre. Just let us know your preference.
